Bangladesh Botanical Society was established in 1972. Professor Dr. Md. Abul Bashar is the present President and Professor Dr. Ashfaque Ahmed is the current Secretary General of the society. The total number of members is over 2975 of which 541 are life members. The society is regularly publishing popular articles in two issues of Bengali journal named "Udvid Barta" and scientific articles in four issues of Bangladesh Journal of Botany. Read More...

On November 11, 2020, Professor Md. Imdadul Hoque passed away. His final resting place is the Shahid Budhijibi cemetery in Dhaka. May Almighty Allah grant eternal peace to his departed soul in Zannatul Ferdous.

Obituary of Prof. Syed Hadiuzzaman (1940-2023).

Professor Hadiuzzaman served as a member of the Editorial Boards of Bangladesh Journal of Botany, Bangladesh Journal of Plant Taxonomy, Journal of the Asiatic Society of Bangladesh, and Plant Tissue Culture and Biotechnology. He is the Life Member of the Bangladesh Association for the Advancement of Science (BAAS), Asiatic Society of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Botanical Society, and Bangladesh Association of Plant Tissue Culture and Biotechnology, and a founding Vice-President of Bangladesh Association of Plant Taxonomists.

Respected Members. It is decided in the EC meeting held on today (09.12.2023) that the last date of New Membership of BBS is 14.12.2023. The last date of renewal of General Membership is also 14.12.2023, members are needed to clear dues upto 2023. Last time is 4pm. Please inform others you know who is interested.
